Relay for Life is an annual national fundraising event which supports cancer survivors and their families, education, advocacy, awareness, and continued research.
During the event, participants walk laps with their team, enjoy activities and entertainment, celebrate cancer survivors in their community, and remember those lost to this terrible disease.
“Over the years, Relay for Life events in Canada have raised more than $13 million, and over $90 million world-wide,” says Eyitayo Ajibaibi, with Relay for Life, UPEI.
How to get involved with Relay for Life
- Make a donation
- Participate in the event as an individual or put together a team of friends, relatives, or co-workers

“In 2024, more than 100 people participated. We really hope more people will join us this year to show support for people affected by cancer. Anyone can put together a team of friends or co-workers and participate in the event.
This year, Relay for Life will be held on March 29, 2024 from 12 to 6 pm at UPEI.
Volunteers help with logistics, set up and tear down, and with signing up event participants. The time commitment is between 11 am and 7 pm on March 29.
Volunteers receive:
- Relay For Life T-shirt
- free meals
