Staff make preserves on the premises, and there is also a retail store, a restaurant, a mail order division, butterfly house, and gardens. A few staff work year-round in the mail order division and in the office, and at the height of the tourism season, about 80 people work there.
“Our Chefs, Servers, and Retail staff are returning from last year,” says Kara MacKenzie. “Generally, kitchen staff positions are the hardest to fill.”
“We are willing to train, so we are looking for people who have a willingness to learn, and who are flexible as to when they are available for work. We need people who are willing to work when we are busiest, which is on the nicest summer week-ends.”
“It’s great if people are available into the fall, because cruise ship traffic has extended our season,” says Neil Matheson.
