January 28, 2025

by Stacy Dunn

Merck Animal Health recently hosted a job fair in Charlottetown. This company, formerly known as Elanco Animal Health Incorporated, helps aquaculture producers and conservationists cultivate and maintain healthy and sustainable aquatic ecosystems.

On PEI, Merck Animal Health currently employs 140 skilled workers. The manufacturing and quality facility in Charlottetown produces fish vaccines that are shipped worldwide.

“The PEI site has grown tremendously in the last number of years,” says Charmaine Noonan, Senior Director/Site Head. “Merck purchased the company in July, and they have been very supportive in our journey of growth. Our primary product continues to grow in the market, and we are looking forward to tapping into the highly skilled talent on PEI.”

Current job opportunities

  • Production Technicians
  • Quality Analysts
  • Warehouse Associates

“We are looking for people with high school diplomas, and a diploma or degree in biotechnology is an asset,” says Marie France Gani, Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor, Human Resources with Merck Canada. “We are also looking for people with a minimum of one-year of experience in a manufacturing environment and with knowledge of GMP practices.”
