March 30, 2021 – Government of PEI: Free mental health services are available to those who work in the fisheries and aquaculture industries on PEI to help support their mental and emotional well being. The Fisher Assistance Program, and Aquaculture Farm Assistance Program offer fishers, crew members, their families, and aquaculturists access to confidential and professional counselling services.
“As we navigate this difficult year, we want to ensure that the people in our industries have access to the mental health services and support that they need,” Fisheries and Communities Minister Jamie Fox.
“The goal of these programs is to offer assistance to those in need, while also creating awareness around the importance of mental health for members of our seafood industry.”
