Holland College Adult Education

Holland College Adult Education is for those who wish to upgrade academic marks or obtain a credit to be accepted into a program of choice.

  • Learn in a supportive and friendly environment and get closer to accomplishing your goals!
  • Complete and upgrade high school credits.
  • Prepare to write the Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) exam.
  • Attend during the day or evening.
  • Applicants must be graduated from high school or 18 years of age.
  • There is no tuition cost if you are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, thanks to our funding partners.

CAEC Preparation – The CAEC Preparation class helps you prepare for the CAEC exam by providing a general review of basic academic skills.  Subjects include writing, social studies, science, literature, and mathematics.  The CAEC exam gives adults who have not graduated from high school the opportunity to earn a high school equivalency certificate.

Anyone interested in writing the CAEC may contact Karen Ford Doyle at 902-566-9362 or email kdoyle@hollandcollege.com.

High School Credits – You can acquire high school credits or upgrade existing marks to meet the admission requirements of post-secondary institutions, or to complete requirements for the PEI High School Graduation Certificate for Mature Students.

For the 2025-2026 school year, Adult Education will be offering a day program and night program in September. There will also be more delivery options for students regardless of location or schedule.

Night classes will have two terms with start dates on August 18, 2025, and January 5, 2026. These will be offered in an online format. This is a great option for the full-time worker who wants to be able to attend classes but is restricted due to a current work schedule.

The day class program will have three terms with start dates on September 2 and November 17, 2025, February 11 and May 5, 2026. This program will offer both in person and online options for all credits. In person classes will be held at Holland College locations in Charlottetown, Summerside and West Prince.

The CAEC program is offered as an in-person program at five locations of Holland College in Charlottetown, West Prince, Summerside, Scotchfort, and Georgetown.

For further information, contact Karen Ford-Doyle, Academic Advisor, at kdoyle@hollandcollege.com or 902-566-9362.
