Jobs: summer positions for a Labourer and a Welder.
This company manufactures potato handling equipment, including live bottom bulk boxes, trailers and more. They do repairs for the agriculture and fishing industry, and there is a parts department as well. Two years ago, a 7,000 square foot expansion to the facility was added.
There are 15 full-time year-round staff members, and most have been with the company for many years. Wages are competitive and benefits include a medical and dental plan as well as RRSP contributions. The company is continuously growing and hiring.
Zach Stewart earned a degree in Business Administration from UPEI. He was hired immediately after graduating and has been employed with this company for three years.
“These summer jobs are a chance for students to try out a job and get a start in trades on PEI. Wages depend on experience. Applicants for the welding position take a welding test to see if they have the right skillset.”
