Reuben Creed has owned and operated a landscaping business for 25 years in Eastern Kings. He maintains the business based on word-of-mouth and maintaining a good reputation.
“I offer high-quality work without advertising through social media or having signage on my truck,” says Reuben. “I am self-employed year round.”
He offers snow removal in the winter and landscaping services from April through October. In the busier summer months, he hires a brother to assist him on jobs.
Benefits of self employment
Reuben has always been self-employed, co-owning and operating a popular restaurant & lounge near Sturgeon, PEI for about 10 years. After the business was sold, he being an outdoors person, was attracted to the working lifestyle of landscaping. “You must have passion for what you are doing to make the business work for you.”
