To be eligible, an applicant must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old or 17 with parental consent, and have completed grade 10 or Secondary IV in Quebec. Successful applicants must pass an eligibility verification process. The minimum contract length for the Regular Force is usually three years, but contracts are longer for paid education programs,
Students who are both employed part-time and full-time in the Reserves may be eligible for tuition reimbursement and the length of service is voluntary. Regular force applicants can apply for full university scholarship, which include a salary plus benefits while attending school, guaranteed employment after graduation, and more. In addition, there are a number of college programs in which students can receive a salary plus academic expenses.
