Presented jointly by the Wellington Rural Action Centre and the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI, this French session will be led by Giselle Bernard, community development officer from the Department of Fisheries and Communities.
Bernard was previously employed for 12 years as an economic development officer with RDÉE PEI. During that time, she had the opportunity to help dozens of businesses prepare their business plans.
During these sessions, Bernard will start off by explaining what a business plan is along with why and how it is important and indispensable for businesses in their start-up, development and expansion phases. She’ll mention that it’s a document that will most likely constantly change and evolve as the business continues to grow.
She’ll then provide a general overview of the types of elements that should be contained in a regular business plan. She’ll provide a few examples of plans so that participants can see directly what such plans look like. She’ll close off by presenting a list of resources and services that are available to help businesses complete their plans and to find information that should be included.
Participants will then get to ask questions.
