Community Inclusions Ltd. in West Prince provides employment, residential, recreational, and vocational services to adults with intellectual challenges and autism. Some clients work for local businesses supported through the organization’s Employment Unit, while others attend day services at the Maple House Centre in O’Leary and the Tignish Training Centre.
The organization operates the Maple House Bakery & Café, a social enterprise. This unique operation provides skills training and employment for the organizations’ clients. It offers healthy food choices (the majority made from scratch) to the community of O’Leary and the surrounding area.
Maple House Bakery & Café is proud to support the community through the Meals on Wheels program. Dollars raised through purchases are reinvested into the organization’s various programs and services.
Community Inclusions operates residences in Tignish, Alberton, and O’Leary. Respite services are also provided at their Alberton and Tignish residential locations.
Community Inclusions recruits Associate Families living in Western PEI interested in having clients reside with them in their homes. As part of this program, the organization assists with the coordination of various community-based residential placements throughout the region. Community Inclusions provides residential monitoring and case plan support to Associate Families.
Employment Unit is funded by the Department of Workforce, Advanced Learning and Population through the Canada-PEI Labour Market Agreements.
