Bayshore HealthCare is one of the country’s leading providers of home and community health care services and is a Canadian-owned company.
With over 100 locations across the country, including 65 home care offices, 13 pharmacies and 90+ infusion clinics, Bayshore has more than 13,500 staff members and provides care to over 350,000 clients across Canada. They provide customized care plans and solutions that allow clients to remain in their own home.
“Our mission is to be passionate and caring, and we look for staff who have the right qualifications, but also have the heart to be that difference in our seniors’ lives,” says Angel Griffin, Area Director. “We are very diverse and inclusive, and reliability is of the utmost importance. Our seniors depend on us, so we need to be dependable and reliable.
“In addition to homecare, we also provide therapy and rehabilitation. We have a specialty pharmacy network, infusion clinics, and community care clinics. We provide services such as companionship, housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, medication reminders, nursing and palliative care.
“I am an internationally educated nurse, so I am fully aware of the accreditation process to be licensed to work in Canada,” says Irwin Ian Cababasay, Talent Acquisition Specialist.
“We have incorporated a lot of support for newcomers. We are here to support workers through the immigration process.
“We hire people with a wide variety of backgrounds. We have created a pathway to help you reach the position you want. If you have no background in healthcare, we are open to having you begin as a Home Support Worker. This is an opportunity to explore your options and perhaps become a Registered Care Worker.
“Employees can enroll in a program and we support them by providing complementary hours so they can go to school and work at the same time. If staff want to become an LPN or a Registered Nurse, we have different positions to support their career. Our goal is to support employees from the beginning until their end goal, and we will work around work availability.
“Over the past while, we have seen the demand for home healthcare on PEI has drastically grown. We have a new system where all our new hires undergo a shadow shift where our nurses step in to guide them to work with clients who need extra care or a specific skill set.”
