Advancing Inclusion: Learning with Black Communities in Canada
Research Impact Canada and the Future Skills Centre are hosting a Peer Learning Group (PLG) to complement FSC’s webinar on Advancing Inclusion: Learning with Black Communities in Canada. This PLG will provide a collaborative space for participants to engage in open dialogue about innovative skills and strategies to make the skills and workforce ecosystem more inclusive.
This session will begin with a primer presentation from Laurene Williams, Program Manager, Diversity Institute. Laurene is passionate about the advancement of those in her community. Her solution-focused approach to life led her to complete post-graduate studies in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Human Resources Management at Humber College. She previously read for her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of Technology, Jamaica.
After the presentation, participants will break into small groups for moderated discussions, where they can share their experiences, challenges, and opportunities in designing programs and initiatives that have encouraged inclusion of equity-seeking groups. This is an opportunity for attendees to learn from one another and explore practical strategies for overcoming barriers and fostering inclusive growth in the future of work.
