GED Preparation – The GED Preparation class helps you prepare for the GED exam by providing a general review of basic academic skills. Subjects include writing,
social studies, science, literature and mathematics. The GED exam gives adults who have not graduated from high school the opportunity to earn a high school equivalency certificate.
Anyone interested in GED must first write the Official Practice Test, free of charge. To sign up for a practice test in Charlottetown and East, contact Karen Ford Doyle at 902-566-9362 or email kdoyle@hollandcollege.com.
In Summerside and West, contact Susan Williamson at 902-888-6495 or email sawilliamson@hollandcollege.com.
High School Credits – You can acquire high school credits or upgrade existing marks to meet the admission requirements of post-secondary institutions, or to complete requirements for the PEI High School Graduation Certificate for Mature Students.
For the 2023-2024 school year, Adult Education will be offering a day program and night program with an earlier start date in September. There will also be more delivery options for students regardless of location or schedule.
Night classes will have two terms with start dates on August 21, 2023, and January 8, 2023. These will be offered in an online format. This is a great option for the full-time worker who wants to be able to attend classes but is restricted due to a current work schedule.
The day class program will have three terms with start dates on September 5 and November 20, 2023, February 14 and May 7, 2024. This program will offer both in person and online options for all credits. In person classes will be held at Holland College locations in Charlottetown, Summerside and West Prince.
The GED program is offered as an in-person program at five locations of Holland College in Charlottetown, West Prince, Summerside, Scotchfort, and Georgetown.
