Many careers in healthcare to consider
According to the WorkPEI Employment Analysis , about 12,400 people are working in Healthcare and Social Assistance on PEI in 2022.
According to the Labour Force Survey for May 2022, the number of people working in PEI’s Health and Social Services sector went up by 700 since May 2021.
According to Health PEI, as of March 2021, there are over 6,000 full-time, part-time, and casual staff (not including staff on leave) working in nine long-term care facilities, eight addictions sites, seven mental health sites, seven hospitals, and five primary-care sites. An additional number of employees work in private sector healthcare.
