Navigate Food Safety Solutions Inc. in Montague works with food manufacturing companies throughout North America, particularly in the area of certification in Global Food Safety Standards.
The business has been in operation since 2013 and is owned by Alex Hanley, a global food safety expert, and Maureen Hanley, COO.
“Many organizations such as food manufacturers, universities, and hospitals need a management system to operate,” says Maureen.
“Food manufacturers are often certified to a certain standard, be that at the provincial, federal, or international level. Most large brands that make products around the world follow global food safety standards.
“We work within all those standards at all those levels to help manufacturers manage food safety and meet standard requirements.”
The company’s Vision Statement says: “People are the core of the food industry and our goal is to navigate them through complicated food safety processes, to improve the everyday practices in the facility, to reduce the complexity of quality management processes, and to set people up for success.”
Navigate offers three lines of products: onsite consulting & training, online training, and a hybrid of the two. They produce original online educational content as well as webinars and master classes.
About the team
“We are an ambitious, high-performance team,” says Maureen. “We have an office full of highly motivated people. We help each other, we grow and learn every day, we work on stretch goals regularly, and we have a lot of fun.”
The online training components are built, filmed, and edited in-house by a team including an Instructional Designer and a Subject Matter Expert. The information from the Subject Matter Expert is turned into a form that an end-user can understand and integrate into their daily work. There is also an Editorial Assistant and a Graphic Designer.
