Lead the Shift
Lead the Shift is a free 25-hour training program delivered by the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce. Island employers, province-wide, are eligible to participate.
Organizations can be public or private, for-profit or not-for-profit, any size. If you employ people, you are eligible for this program.
The program aims to provide employers with the education, skills, and tools necessary to develop and implement workplace equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) strategies and policies.
During this program, participants will develop an understanding of cultural diversity, the impact of microaggressions, unconscious biases, and evidence and research-based hiring practices; they will also hear from Island businesses that have implemented D&I policies.
Training for cohort #6 will begin on September 11, 2023. The 25-hour program will feature a combination of virtual and in-person sessions.
The program was initially designed for leaders and professionals (Executive Directors, CEO, etc.) who oversee strategies within their organizations and want to be more inclusive: to lead, engage and work with diverse teams. Each organization can have up to two participants per cohort.
